About Yoga


Yoga originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. Today there are many different styles of yoga with more than 300,000 people of all ages and abilities attending classes in the UK.


Hatha yoga is the general name for all physical forms of yoga. Hatha yoga involves the body, mind and breath and includes relaxation techniques.


Compared to more strenuous forms of yoga, Hatha yoga is often described as being gentle and relaxing - making it accessible to all - though still remaining very powerful in its effects.


Hatha yoga is a good place to start if you are not sure which is best for you.  My classes aim to relax, rejuvenate and bring a sense of calm.

About me


I am a British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher and gained my BWY Teaching Diploma 2002.


I have been teaching yoga for over 19 years in Gatley and also in local Adult Education.


Usually, my classes are held at Gatley Hill House, which is at the corner of Church Road and Styal Road, with lots of free parking space. Presently, I am teaching on Zoom and have a range of YouTube videos.


I love teaching yoga to people of all ages and abilities. I particularly enjoy teaching relaxation and stress-busting techniques, including mindfulness, which help to enhance a sense of wellbeing, and which I feel are so important right now.

These classes are ideal if you want to join a sociable group session from the comfort and safety of your own home. I am happy to help you get started with Zoom, if you wish.

New members are very welcome to both of these classes.They are suitable for all abilities and experience - also good for those wanting to try Yoga for the first time.

I have a growing library of recorded shorter sessions (20-30 minutes) for home practice.

These are ideal if you want to practise in your own time and as much as you wish. Links will be sent via email with a monthly subscription.
